About this studio

Dance First Think Later specializes in personalized wedding dance packages for couples preparing for their first dance. Based in Vancouver at 1050 Alberni Street, the studio is led by owner and instructor Katya Petrytskyi, who began her own dance training at age six and competed in numerous national and international ballroom competitions. As a recent newlywed herself, Katya brings firsthand understanding of how significant—and emotional—the first dance can be on a wedding day.

The studio offers five structured packages to suit different timelines and ambitions. The Last Minute Dance Package (2 hours, $125 per hour) provides simple choreography to your song of choice, designed to build confidence for photos and the moment itself. The Let's Dance Package, the studio's most popular offering, runs either 2 two-hour classes or 4 one-hour classes (4 hours at $120/hour or 6 hours at $115/hour) and includes a choreographed routine with practice time to perform it confidently.

For couples who want to create a more elaborate impression, the Dance to Impress package consists of 8–10 one-hour private lessons depending on dance complexity, with a personally choreographed routine in your chosen style (8 hours at $110/hour or 10 hours at $105/hour). The Wedding Party Package extends lessons to parents and wedding party members: 8 classes for $120/hour or 10 classes for $115/hour, combining bride-and-groom choreography with group training.

Beyond first-dance preparation, the studio runs Bachelorette Party Dance Classes tailored to your group's energy, whether you want a fun routine, sultry choreography, or freestyle dancing to favourite songs. A Custom Package is available for couples, friends, or corporate groups seeking personalized dance lessons for team-building, private events, or special occasions. All lessons are one-on-one or small-group, allowing instructors to work at your pace and skill level.
