About this studio
Dale Neale Dance teaches ballroom and Latin partner dancing at Let's Dance Studio on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. The studio is run by Dale Neale, who has over 30 years of experience in dancing and is a 4-time winner of the Canadian Smooth Championships. He has also won the U.S. Open Smooth Championship and numerous Rising Star Championships. Dale began as a ballet dancer at age 16 and moved into ballroom and Latin dancing at age 25. He has competed in International Latin, Standard and American Smooth, danced in movies and commercials, performed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and spent time travelling through Europe performing and teaching Salsa with American Latin All Stars. He is a Head Master Instructor, Teacher, Choreographer and Coach, and also serves as Dance Director of the Vancouver Academy of Ballroom Dance.
Classes run on Sunday nights from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Let's Dance Studio, 2nd floor, 927 Granville Street. The studio offers group classes in a range of styles: Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa/Mambo, Merengue, Samba, Bolero, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Night Club 2 Step, Foxtrot, Tango, Slow Waltz and Viennese Waltz. Group classes are structured progressively over 4 weeks, with each class running 1.5 hours including practice time. Drop-in cost is $30 per class, or $100 for the full 4-week month. No pre-registration is required for drop-ins, though you can call ahead with questions. The studio balances leaders and followers in each class, so you do not need to bring a partner.
Beyond Sunday group classes, Dale offers private lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced dancers in American or International styles. Private lessons can be 45 minutes or 1 hour long, either one-on-one or with a couple. Private group classes are available for groups of five or more friends meeting weekly. Dale also choreographs wedding first dances, can prepare dancers for competition with championship-level expertise, and offers sequence dancing classes—a social form using preset choreography. All private lesson, group, and wedding pricing is available by contacting Dale directly.
The studio's mission is to enhance life through dance in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Dale's philosophy centres on improving the quality of your life through the joy of dance and improving yourself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Absolute beginners are welcome; you will be dancing after your first night. The studio emphasises that you are never too young or too old to start dancing.

Your first visit

Dale Neale Dance was founded by Dale Neale, who has over 30 years of experience in dancing. He began as a ballet dancer at age 16 and moved into ballroom and Latin dancing at age 25, building a competitive background that earned him 4 Canadian national titles in Smooth Ballroom, the U.S. Open Smooth Championship, and numerous Rising Star Championships. He has performed in films, commercials and music videos, performed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and taught Salsa throughout Europe. Dale is also the Dance Director of the Vancouver Academy of Ballroom Dance.
