About this studio
Dance School Vavruška teaches standard and Latin American dance to youth, university students, adults, and children from age 3. The school runs regular courses, open-class seminars, individual lessons, and a competitive dance club. Beyond classes, they host a program of social events: a regular dance hall (tančírna) on Karlovo náměstí, Saturday ladies' dance breakfasts, Sunday dance breakfasts for couples, ladies' Latin dance weekends, and formal balls with published dates and ticket sales. Summer programs include open ladies' Latin classes and residential retreats for adult couples.
The school uses some of Prague's finest venues — Obecní dům, Žofín, Slovanský dům, Národní divadlo na Vinohradech, and Palác Charitas — rather than a single studio. Their teaching team are described as skilled instructors who teach with respect and feeling for students' needs. The school emphasizes care for clients and parents alike, and states they welcome anyone willing to learn, regardless of prior experience or anxiety about dancing.
Classes are offered for youth (secondary-school age), university students, and adults. Specific programs include Lady Latino (Latin dance for women), a dance club for competitive dancers, and a preparatory class for children aged 3–6. The school also arranges pre-danced performances and dance shows, rents halls for congresses, and operates a café on Karlovo náměstí. They sell gift vouchers for courses and dance clothing.
The summer 2026 calendar includes ladies' open Latin classes, a Wednesday dance hall running late August with a bar, and an adult couples' summer retreat in Sedlčany (6–9 August) for dancers from gently advanced to very advanced levels. Evening dance halls are held from 19:15 to 22:00, with online ticket sales opening seven days in advance.
