Shufflingbros Dance Academy

Shufflingbros Dance Academy is a dance school in Prague offering classes across 11 dance styles for all ages and skill levels. Located in Nové Město near the city centre, the school welcomes beginners through to advanced dancers and emphasises a friendly, welcoming approach alongside individual attention for each student.

The school teaches shuffle dance, K-pop dance, high heels, twerk, contemporary, dancehall, break dance, salsa, bachata, roller dance and zumba. Shuffle dance, which originated in Melbourne, Australia in the 1980s, is taught through progressive steps and choreography, with review of previous weeks' material at the start of each class. K-pop dance draws from the diverse musical palette of Korean pop—pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock and ballads—resulting in varied choreography and rhythm. High heels classes begin with foundational technique and heel work before moving to choreography and improvisation, aiming to build confidence and joy in movement. Twerk courses focus on detailed technique training, combining twerk movements with workout elements to build flexibility and strength, and culminate in performance opportunities. Contemporary dance, also called scénický tanec (scenic dance), developed in the mid-twentieth century and is distinguished by unique tricks and technical precision. Break dance, or bboying, originated in New York in the early 1970s and teaches toprock, footwork, freezes and powermoves. Salsa, bachata and zumba draw from Latin American traditions: salsa blends mambo, cha-cha-cha, pachanga and boogaloo; bachata, originating in the Dominican Republic, is romantic and slower-paced; zumba combines Latin rhythms, world music and aerobic movement with no prior experience required. Dancehall, a Jamaican style characterised by rhythmic hip movements and expressive gestures, is taught in an energetic and friendly environment. Roller dance is performed on four-wheeled roller skates and combines elements of hip-hop, disco and figure skating.

Courses range from eight to fifteen lessons to suit individual schedules and goals. Classes are structured with warm-up, technique and choreography work, and cool-down stretching. The school's instructors are experienced in their respective styles and focus on helping each student reach their dance goals while sharing the passion and joy that dance brings. Students are encouraged to ask questions and progression is tailored to individual ability and confidence.
