About this studio

Dancesport of Madison is a full-service ballroom dance studio run by director Tom Choudoir. The studio offers beginning through professional-level classes in both social and competitive dance, with no contracts required — you choose the type and frequency of lessons that suit you.

The studio runs a regular schedule of group classes: Monday at 6:30 pm for West Coast Swing, Wednesday at 6:30 pm for Argentine Tango, and Saturday at 10:30 am for a Zoom-based class on exercises for ballroom dance techniques. Group classes work as an economical way to learn and improve in a fun, shared environment. Private lessons are available for those who want to work at their own pace and focus on specific dances. The first lesson for new students is always free.

Dancesport of Madison also hosts ballroom events and showcases. The Spring Fling! Ball takes place on the studio premises, and the studio partners with Ballroom Academy of Dubuque to present larger regional competitions and showcases including the Badger State Ballroom Dance Competition and Showcase (held annually in October at Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin) and the Fleur-de-Lis Showcase in Dubuque, Iowa. These events are open to all and offer both competitive and showcase opportunities.
