About this studio

Designed to Dance Ballroom Studio is based in Medina, Ohio and teaches Ballroom, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm dance. The studio is run by Toshko Kondov, owner and teacher, originally from Varna, Bulgaria, who began competing at age 5 and has won over 45 medals in domestic and international competitions across Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, France, Romania, Moldova, Russia, Croatia, Slovakia and Ukraine. He was Bulgarian Latin Vice-Champion in 2010 and represented Bulgaria at two World Championships: 2009 in Maribor, Slovenia and 2010 in New York. Since arriving in the USA and partnering with his now wife Kristen, Toshko has achieved USDC National Open Rhythm Finalists status, won the Chicago Crystal Ball, Virginia State Dancesport Championships, 3x Ohio Star Ball Open Rhythm Finalists, Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Rhythm Champions, USDC Rising Star Rhythm Finalists, Capitol Dancesport Rising Star Rhythm Champions & Open Finalists, Chicago Harvest Moon Championships, Cleveland Dancesport Challenge Championships and Northcoast Dancesport Championships. He is proud of his Pro/Am career training top students and helping them achieve awards from Regionals to Nationals.

Kristen Kondov, owner, manager and teacher, is an Ohio native who took her first dance class at age 4. She has trained in tap, jazz, acro, hip-hop and ballet before discovering ballroom. She was selected as the featured ballroom dancer in "Ballroom Bravo" with PGT Entertainment aboard Regent Seven Seas, and was a featured contestant on So You Think You Can Dance seasons 8 and 9, making it to Vegas Week. She shares the same competitive titles as Toshko and is passionate about sharing dance with students from beginner to advanced, believing that dancing can truly change lives.

Aaron Blizzard, teacher and dance & events director, began his dance training at age 10 at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School in Connecticut. He trained in ballet under Donna Bonasera at Connecticut Dance Theatre and trained and competed professionally in ballroom at Fred Astaire Dance Studios before relocating to Cleveland, Ohio in 2017. He completed his CDCA and became a licensed therapist in Ohio, integrating dance into his therapy practice to create his own Dance Therapy curriculum.

The studio offers private lessons (45 minutes: 40 minutes dancing and 5 minutes review/goal setting), group classes, virtual private lessons with 4K live streaming camera and crystal clear sound, practice parties, guest coachings, and wedding dance services. Wedding offerings include wedding dance consultation to understand your vision and preferences, first dance choreography for show-stopping or smooth routines, group choreography for wedding parties, and parent dances (father-daughter, mother-son or general parent dance). The team believes everyone is designed to dance and can impact every area of life.

If you prefer learning at home, virtual private lessons are available with 4K streaming and full technical support. The studio emphasises building correct muscle memory and practising the right way.

Toshko Kondov is the owner and head teacher; he is a former Bulgarian champion with over 45 international competition medals and now holds multiple US championship titles including USDC National Open Rhythm Finalists and Ohio Star Ball champions. His wife Kristen Kondov is owner and teacher, trained in multiple styles and was a featured contestant on So You Think You Can Dance seasons 8 and 9. Aaron Blizzard is a teacher and dance events director with formal ballet training and experience in competitive ballroom.
