About this studio
El Alma de la Luna is a dance school in Charlotte that teaches children through Latin dance and ballet. The studio describes itself as more than an academy—a passionate, diverse community that celebrates Latin culture through dance. Classes are structured by level and age: Minis, Básico I, II and III, Intermedio, Ballet I, II, and Adolescentes. There is also a Clase de Gimnasia (gymnastics class) offered.
The school's approach emphasizes cultural connection alongside technique. Students don't just learn to move to music; they experience what the studio calls an enriching journey that builds connection to Latin heritage, develops social skills, and encourages creative expression. The studio prioritizes a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can grow not only as dancers but as individuals.
Teaching is led by what the studio describes as expert instructors, and the school runs a foundation (La Fundación El Alma de la Luna) as part of its community work. The studio offers a free trial class to new students. Instagram handle is @elalmadelaluna.
