About this studio
Espaço Mega Dança has been teaching dance in central São Paulo since 2014, working with the philosophy that anyone can learn to dance, regardless of age or prior experience. The school occupies two bright studio spaces totalling 200 m², both air-conditioned with mirrors, quality sound, and sprung floors suited to ballroom and Latin styles.
The studio teaches four main styles: sertanejo, zouk, gafieira, and zumba. Sertanejo and gafieira are low-impact ballroom dances, while zouk is a partner dance; zumba is recommended for those looking to burn calories. The school is built around adult learners (recommended from age 15 onwards) and explicitly welcomes complete beginners. Class size is managed so that students can find partners: the school registers students in advance to balance the number of men and women in each group.
Weekly social dances called "Práticas Dançantes" let students apply what they've learned and socialise with peers from the school and invited guests. The studio also organises themed parties, flash mobs, and larger events such as "Todos Mega na Paulista" and "Mega Day".
The location is 2 minutes' walk from Anhangabaú metro station in central São Paulo, on Rua da Consolação in the Galeria Jaraguá Center, across from Biblioteca Mário de Andrade. Parking is available at a validated partner lot 200 metres away (Viva Park, Movida). Payment options include PIX, bank transfer, and card (debit or credit), with the option of recurring card debits. There is no membership loyalty scheme — you can cancel at any time.
First-time visitors can take an experimental class at the cost of a registration fee, which is waived if you enrol the same day. The school suggests trying at least a month of classes to get a real feel for the environment and community.
