Global Latino Bucharest teaches Latin social dances—Salsa and Bachata—in two locations: Club Rio on Strada Bărăției 31 (near the Cocor department store) and a second studio on Bulevardul Ghencea 43 B in the Ghencea Business Centre. The studio is built on the principle that social dance is about connection and spontaneity, not competitive performance. Instructors emphasise partnership: men learn to lead and guide movement, while women learn to follow and respond to subtle signals. Once you understand the core principles, you can dance with any partner who has studied the same style—there's no requirement to train with a fixed partner.
Classes are designed for complete beginners. You need no prior dance experience and no partner to start. Instructors teach step-by-step with patience, explaining movement in detail. Lessons are filmed and added to a virtual library so you can review what you've learned whenever you want. The studio runs occasional Practice Parties where students can socialise, repeat what they've learned in class, and dance socially in a relaxed setting.
The main instructors are Lorenzo and Irina, who teach Bachata Social Dance and bring over 14 years of teaching experience. They have participated in numerous national and international festivals.
