About this studio

Hamilton Junior School offers dance and musical theatre training for young performers at Brickhouse Studios on Farnell Street in Glasgow. The school began as Dancepoint over 20 years ago, delivering outstanding dance training and performance opportunities for young dancers. In 2026, it rebranded to align with its college partner Hamilton Theatre Arts, becoming Hamilton Junior School. Today it continues to deliver an outstanding programme of training in dance, theatre and performance.

Classes are structured by level and age, with Babies classes offering the perfect introduction for young dancers, followed by Pre-Level 1, Level 1 & 2 packages, and Level 3 & 4 packages. The school also offers flexible scheduling options with Tuesday night only and Saturday only classes available, catering to different family needs.

For students aged 12 and above considering higher education in musical theatre, Hamilton Junior Associates offers a specialist pre-college programme. This fantastic programme bridges the gap from school to college through a specialised Musical Theatre triple threat route. The Associates programme is offered on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 9pm, starting in August. Students can work towards the NPA Musical Theatre Award approved by Qualifications Scotland (equivalent to Higher level), which is approved by SQA. The curriculum includes ensemble singing, acting through song, jazz technique, musical theatre choreography, and production class.

Entry to Associates is via audition, and students should complete at least one full academic year of training before they can certificate for the NPA Musical Theatre. There are two different Associates stages available: P6-S2 and S3-S6. Decisions on when a student can certificate are taken by tutors based on individual progress. The programme is flexible in duration and offers SQA, ISTD and RAD specialist routes.

The school is run by Principal Robert Hamilton, who leads a team of experienced staff including Jaimie Macrae, Olivia Roach, Scott McCormack, Pamela Killean, Stuart Bird, Lauren High, and Macy Allan. You can reach the school by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
