Idaho DanceSport

Idaho DanceSport teaches partner dancing at all levels in Boise. The studio specialises in International Latin, Standard, Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Zouk, Kizomba, and more. You can train for competition, prepare for a wedding, improve your technique, or simply discover social dancing for the first time. The studio is led by Tabish Romario, founder and artistic director, a professional and active Latin Ballroom competitor who in 2020 received the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, the highest arts award in Idaho.

Tabish began dedicating his life to Latin Ballroom and Latin social dances at age 15. He studied under some of the finest in Latin Ballroom including Anna Kovalova, Eugene Katsevman, Shirley Ballas, Louis Van Amstel, and Shorena Chertkove. He competes around the country in Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive, and is skilled in social dances including Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, and Argentine Tango. His private lessons have been called invaluable because they are specifically tailored to your unique abilities and needs.

Tabish is married to Lori Ebinger, studio manager and co-owner. Lori has been dancing since age 3, with intensive ballet training until her early 20s. She studied Cellular and Molecular Biology and began a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies before renewing her passion for Latin dance. She now practises medicine full-time while competing all over the country with Tabish. The studio team also includes Sean Lee, Marcus Price, Charyl Rush, and Jerrell Williams.

Group lessons run on Sundays and Thursdays at the studio (600 S Orchard St). Sunday classes include Beginner Salsa (5:00 pm), Bachata Fusion (5:45 pm), Intermediate Salsa (6:30 pm), and Fundamentals of Latin Ballroom (7:30–8:30 pm). Thursday offers Ladies Latin Night with Salsa and Bachata (7:00 pm) and Ladies International Latin Ballroom (8:00 pm). Group lessons cost $20 per class, or $75 for 6 weeks, $150 for 12 weeks on a punch-card system that only counts when you show up.

Private lessons are offered one-to-one or for couples in Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Zouk, Kizomba, Argentine Tango, and more. Single private lessons are $75; packages range from 5 lessons ($325) to 25 lessons ($1,350). All packages are non-refundable with a 12-hour cancellation policy.

The studio hosts weekly social dancing every other Wednesday at Solid Bar and Grill (405 S 8th St #100, Boise). An 8–9 pm Basic Salsa and Bachata class costs $5; social dancing from 9–11 pm is $5 cover or free with the class. Music includes Classic Salsa, Salsa Brava, Salsa Romantica, Bachata Moderna, and Bachata Dominicana, and special performances are often featured. The studio also hosts larger events; Legends of Music 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, 6:30–10:00 pm at the Shrine Social Club. The studio is described as "more than a dance studio", with a community that extends beyond the dance room. Idaho DanceSport also sells Latin, Standard, Social, and Practice dance shoes at the studio.

Group classes welcome all levels. Sunday Beginner Salsa starts at 5:00 pm with basic steps and techniques requiring no experience. If you're new to social dancing, the twice-weekly socials at Solid Bar and Grill offer a Basic Salsa and Bachata class (8–9 pm, $5) before the dance floor opens (9–11 pm).

Tabish Romario, founder and director, is a professional Latin Ballroom competitor and 2020 Governor's Award recipient. Lori Ebinger, his wife and studio manager, is a former ballet dancer training in Latin styles. The team also includes Sean Lee, Marcus Price, Charyl Rush, and Jerrell Williams.

Beginner Salsa and Bachata Fusion classes require no experience; Thursday Ladies Latin Night and social dancing at Solid Bar and Grill welcome beginner level dancers.
