In Movement Ballroom Dance Studio

In Movement Ballroom Dance Studio is a community-based dance studio in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, teaching ballroom and social dances to people of all ages and skill levels. The studio is co-owned and taught by Jason Smith and Jamie Palmer, alongside instructors Jami Aupperle, Tori Daniels, Arden Kain, and Jason Walters. The team has taught hundreds of couples over the years and prides itself on creating a warm and welcoming environment.

The studio teaches all forms of ballroom and social dances, including Ballroom, Latin, Smooth, and Rhythm styles. Group classes are available at different levels, with walk-ins welcome for most beginner group classes. Private instruction is also offered at competitive pricing, and first lessons are free. Attending group lessons, private instruction, and weekly practice parties together has been proven to quickly improve your abilities and leave you feeling more confident.

You don't need a partner to learn—lessons are available solo or with a partner, and experienced instructors are here to help you achieve your goals either way. No previous dance experience is necessary. The studio offers special group pricing for parties of more than 2 people learning at the same time.

In Movement specializes in wedding couples and has taught hundreds throughout the years. Whether you want to learn exact choreography for your first dance or steps for a mother-son dance, father-daughter dance, wedding party entrances, or any other dance for your big day, the instructors are there to teach and refine your skills.

The studio is open Monday to Friday 2:00 pm–9:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am–1:00 pm. Weekly practice parties give you a chance to practice what you've learned and meet other dancers. Gift certificates for group lessons are available.

When you arrive, bring an extra pair of clean shoes (or your own dance shoes if you have them); the studio provides water. Most beginner group classes welcome walk-ins with no prebooking required. You'll work with experienced instructors who tailor lessons to your ability level and are patient with dancers at any stage.
