The academy operates from Evergreen Theatre at 1705 Poplar Avenue and structures its classes by skill level, so you can find a group that matches where you are in your dance journey.
The main class track is Choreography & Technique. Beautiful Beginner teaches basic technique and beginner choreography at a slower pace. Immaculate Intermediate builds on that foundation with more advanced bellydance moves, layering techniques, and opportunities to perform within the community. Amazing Advance prepares you for the Elite Performance Troupe, teaching the most advanced techniques and drills; students at this level may mentor beginners and intermediates, and serve as alternates to paid performances. The Elite Performance Troupe (audition only) is the academy's professional-facing group, expected to represent paid performances and shows. Troupe members learn the in-depth culture of many dance styles, receive payment for performances, and can teach within the academy.
Beyond choreography classes, IDA offers Belly Boot Camp, a 60-minute workout combining bellydance and circuit training with contemporary pop music. Bellydance Technique is a 60-minute class that breaks down traditional bellydance movements with more one-to-one attention to ensure comprehensive understanding. Private lessons with IDA instructors are also available by the hour. Group classes run 60–120 minutes; choreography classes teach the history behind each style of dance. A minimum of 5 students is required to hold a class.
The academy also offers shows at private parties, event venues, restaurants, and other locations. Whether you are new to the dancing culture or have many years of experience, the academy says it can develop the most appropriate class schedule for you.
