About this studio
Jeany Dancer Studio teaches Kizomba, Salsa and Standard Ballroom (Stijldansen) in Utrecht. The studio offers group lessons, private lessons, workshops and demonstrations. The philosophy is simple: you learn to dance by dancing, but lessons help you learn moves faster, understand how to lead and follow clearly, and build the technique to dance with confidence on the floor and at socials.
The instructor has danced Standard Ballroom since age twelve, began Salsa in 2019, and started teaching Kizomba in 2021. They now dance primarily in Utrecht and Paris, where their Kizomba style is known as Sensual Urban Kizz. The studio's signature approach emphasises soft but clear leading and sensitive following.
Regular group lessons run on Tuesday evenings with three levels: Kizomba Novices (Beginner) at 19:30–20:30, Kizomba Improvers (experienced dancers ready for challenges) at 20:30–21:30, and Salsa LA (Los Angeles style, Beginner) at 21:30–22:30. Drop-in class costs €14; a six-lesson pass is €69. The curriculum is designed so beginners learn basic moves and technique in the first lesson — what the studio calls "quick and dirty" — so you can immediately dance a little at socials. Subsequent lessons add more moves and technique, building confidence session by session.
The studio also offers private lessons and can host workshops, shows or regular lesson series at your own event, either under your label or in partnership with Jeany Dancer. The studio is actively involved in the social dance scene and provides detailed guides to Kizomba socials in both Utrecht and Paris, as well as Salsa and Standard Ballroom socials across the region.
