La Bodeguita del Medio Praha

La Bodeguita del Medio Praha is a Cuban restaurant, cocktail bar, and music venue in the heart of Prague's Old Town, steps from the Old Town Square. Since opening in 2002, it has hosted a vibrant social scene with live Cuban bands and dancers performing every day. The space spans multiple floors: the ground floor houses the original Cocktail Bar with a colonial-style stage and the La Langostería restaurant section; the basement contains the Latino Disco Music Club; and the first floor features the Cohiba Atmosphere Cigar Club Bar, which opened in 2005 under the patronage of then-President Václav Klaus.

The venue's atmosphere draws directly from the legendary Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, with colonial furniture, humidors, and walls covered in paintings, photographs, and guest signatures. The bar features a summer terrace on Kaprova Street with a retractable canopy and 50 seats, where live music plays during the day. The overall capacity accommodates up to 300 guests.

Entertainment is a daily fixture. The Cocktail Bar presents live Cuban band performances with dancers. The Latino Disco Music Club operates on open nights with dance and entertainment starting at 7:00 PM and continuing into the early hours, led by Cuban DJs and animators. An entrance fee of 200 CZK includes a token redeemable for a Cuban Mojito. The club offers private event hosting with full exclusivity.

The kitchen operates until 3:00 AM, serving authentic Cuban and Creole dishes, grilled steaks, fresh fish, and seafood. La Langostería specializes in Cuban lobster imports (Caribbean Queen brand), offering lobster ceviche, grilled lobsters, and tails prepared multiple ways. The cocktail menu features over 150 options, with the Mojito—perfected here in the original Havana location in 1942—as the signature drink.

The Cigar Club Bar on the first floor imports authentic Cuban cigars directly, stocking brands including Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, and Hoyo de Monterrey. A shop sells cigars, tobacco accessories, humidors, and souvenirs including t-shirts, caps, and original Cuban Guayabera shirts.

Live Cuban music and dancing happen every day, with a daily program including performances by Cuban bands with dancers. The Latino Disco Music Club runs on open nights from 7:00 PM onwards, led by Cuban DJs and animators. You can dine on Cuban and Caribbean food, order from over 150 cocktails, and soak in colonial-era Havana atmosphere across multiple interconnected spaces.
