Absolute Beginner level classes require no experience and no partner; new students are welcome, though it's preferable to start at the beginning of a 4-week cycle.

About this studio
Latin Fusion Oklahoma has been teaching Salsa On 2 (New York Style) and Bachata in Oklahoma City for over 17 years. The studio offers structured classes in four progression levels: Absolute Beginner (no experience required), Experienced Beginner (4 months to 1 year), Intermediate (9 months or longer), and Advanced (1.5 years or longer). No partner is necessary—the instructors rotate frequently so everyone practises with different partners.
The teaching team is led by Maritza Rodriguez, a 2014 World Salsa Champion with 27+ years of teaching, performing and choreography experience. She teaches Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, and Cha-Cha-Cha. The other instructors are Ilias Gibigaye (8 years teaching, Director of Salsa Team: Yamulee Project Oklahoma City), Jessica Permoso (8 years teaching, Director of Salsa Team: Yamulee Project Oklahoma City, Member: Iroko Ladies World Team), Danny Chakron (5 years teaching, Director of Bachata Team: Latin Fusion Oklahoma City), and Amanda Leonard (7 years teaching, Director of Bachata Team: Latin Fusion Oklahoma City).
Classes run on 4-week cycles. Salsa meets on Sundays and Thursdays; Bachata meets on Sundays and Wednesdays. Within each level, you can choose between Footwork & Partnerwork or Social Dance Training. There is also a Ladies Styling class for intermediate Bachata dancers on Mondays at 7:30pm–8:30pm, covering footwork, styling, and body movement.
Private lessons are available and scheduled to your availability. The studio recommends combining private lessons with group classes as the best way to learn. Each private session covers in-depth technique and details tailored to help you move to the next level. You can book by phone or text.
The studio also runs Latin Dance Parties and can be hired for corporate events. A $20 discount is offered to new students for a limited time.
What to expect
Your first visit
You will arrive at 7312 Cherokee Plaza for a class structured by your level and chosen focus (footwork or social dance). Register online in advance—classes fill quickly and walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a spot. Come in comfortable clothing and flat-bottomed or dance shoes; no sneakers or thick rubber soles. You will rotate through partners throughout the session, with no partner required to attend.
