About this studio

Latin Junction is a Rosebery-based dance studio founded in 2012 by Felix Ben. Felix came to dance as an adult—he was a severely shy personality who avoided discomfort well into his 20s, only discovering his passion for social dancing at 30. He left his corporate career to start Latin Junction and share that experience with others. Over ten years, he has personally taught over 10,000 hours of classes and guided over 12,000 people through the studio's doors.

The studio teaches salsa, bachata, Salsa On2 (also known as NY Style or Mambo), Kizomba, and Latin Fusion. Workshops cover Cha-Cha, Pachanga, Rumba, Afro-Cuban and other styles. You can also take private 1-on-1 lessons, join choreography courses, and book wedding dance lessons. The Salsa program has been developed over years of experience and uses a structured, level-based approach: Salsa 000 (30-minute foundations class), Salsa 100 (beginner), Salsa 200 (improver), Salsa 300 (intermediate) and Salsa 400 (advanced). Bachata and Salsa classes are run by both a female and male instructor. Class sizes range from 4 to 40 students depending on time and level.

The studio operates from two locations: the main studio at Unit 1B/10 Durdans Ave in Rosebery, which has two large studios, one medium studio and one small studio for private lessons, plus onsite and free street parking. There is also a satellite studio at Shop 2, 64 Bronte Road, Bondi Junction on Monday nights. With 45–47 classes per week across six days, there are options for most schedules. Classes run Sun–Friday with 15 one-hour salsa classes per week alone.

Beyond regular classes, Latin Junction hosts a yearly Black Tie Ball and monthly Salsa/Bachata Jams for social dancing and community building. The studio calls its community "the LJ Tribe." Corporate entertainment and birthday/hen night entertainment packages are available. Choreography teams learn and perform at Latin Junction events and competitions across Australia.

The studio has a 4.9 Google rating from 418 reviews and over 1,000 five-star reviews on Facebook and Google. The teaching philosophy emphasises personal attention in a group setting, accessibility for everyone, and returning to the traditions of Latin dance culture focused on connecting people, celebrating life and building real human connection.
