About this studio
Legacy Irish Dance Academy teaches Irish dance at the Savannah location on Skidaway Rd. The school is owned and directed by Abbey Wood, TCRG, and her husband Brent Wood, TCRG. Both instructors hold the TCRG teaching qualification.
The academy describes itself as a training ground for Irish dance world, national, and regional championship competitors and medal winners. Instructors and dancers have performed on stage with Gaelic Storm, Santana, America's Got Talent, Raglan Road, the NFL and CFL, and on numerous TV shows. Legacy instructors have also had the opportunity to teach alongside dancers from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
The studio emphasizes a positive learning environment centred on Irish dance, music, and culture. According to the academy, students develop confidence and athleticism, benefit from friendships with other dancers, and learn to treat all dancers with respect and a generous spirit. The school values courtesy, kindness, and respect as part of the Irish spirit.
Legacy Irish Dance Academy operates multiple locations across the low country and DC Metro region, with the Savannah studio at 7210 Skidaway Rd, Savannah, GA 31406. Additional locations are in Charleston (561 Belle Station Blvd, Mount Pleasant, SC) and Summerville (1156 Drop Off Dr. Unit C, Summerville, SC 29483), as well as in the DC Metro area.
The first class is always free, and prospective students can book a complimentary class to try Irish dance.
