About this studio
Mersey Swing is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and the home of vintage swing dancing on Merseyside in Liverpool. The community teaches and celebrates the classic partnered dances of the swing era, including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Blues. Beyond regular weekly classes, Mersey Swing runs a full calendar of workshops, socials, and events such as their annual Smackdown and summer dancing at the Sefton Park Bandstand, building an inclusive local scene for vintage dance enthusiasts of all levels.
What to expect
Your first visit
Weekly classes run on Wednesday evenings at Studio 3, with First Steps for newcomers followed by a main class and an open social dance. No partner and no advance registration are required, and the group now accepts card payments at the door, so you can simply turn up ready to dance. Beginners are welcome and guest-instructor workshops (e.g. intermediate Lindy Hop) are offered periodically.
