About this studio
Move Dance Studio teaches classical ballet to children in Headington, following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method. The studio is built on a conviction that ballet is a powerful tool for a child's holistic development—the philosophy goes beyond technique to build coordination, posture, musicality and body awareness alongside values like respect, dedication, perseverance, teamwork and self-confidence.
Classes are carefully planned to account for each child's age, motor, cognitive and emotional maturity. Every movement, game and exercise is designed so that each student can progress healthily and consistently at their own pace. The three age groups are Baby Ballet (ages 2 to 4), which introduces ballet through playful activities, music and games; Pre Primary (ages 5 to 7), focusing on basic ballet skills, balance and musicality in a fun and structured way; and Primary (ages 8 to 12), a more technical class that refines posture, strength and ballet technique while encouraging confidence and creativity.
Ana Rossi, the studio's director, is a classical ballet teacher with 8 years of experience, currently at an advanced level with the Royal Academy of Dance, London. She has been part of contemporary and modern dance companies and has performed in children's musicals both in Brazil and internationally. She is dedicated to inspiring each student to explore movement, develop technique, expressiveness and confidence.
The studio emphasises learning with both safety and enjoyment. In classes, children develop rhythm, lightness and balance; beyond the studio, those same children learn to face challenges with courage, handle frustrations with maturity and celebrate every small achievement with confidence.
