Pirueta baletna šola

Pirueta is a ballet school in central Ljubljana teaching children from preschool age through secondary school, as well as adult classes. The school structures teaching by age group, offering homogeneous classes so children learn alongside peers at similar developmental stages.

For children, classes focus on fundamental ballet technique: basic steps, listening to the teacher, responding to music, concentration, coordination, and perseverance. Four times each year students perform—both in internal showings and public performances. The school provides unified costumes and pointe shoes, ordered centrally to ensure consistency, quality, and to save families time on shopping.

Adult ballet classes combine a full structure: warm-up, stabilisation exercises, stretching, and ballet work at the barre and in the studio space. Teaching emphasises correct posture, musicality, elegance, and soft movement quality.

From year 7 of primary school onwards, students can select from additional programmes: extra pointe work, contemporary dance, character dance, ballet conditioning for dancers, and individual lessons. Teaching begins the first Tuesday of September, with the 'Malčki in mamice' (little ones and mums) and 'Baletne urice' (ballet hours) programmes starting the following Monday.

A trial lesson costs 25 EUR (the enrolment fee), which covers one introductory hour. If you continue after the trial, you pay the full month's fees; if you withdraw, only the enrolment fee is retained.
