All levels are welcome; line dance and swing classes are explicitly beginner-focused, and dance etiquette instruction is provided.

About this studio
Queen Bee's Art & Cultural Center has been serving San Diego's North Park neighbourhood since 2008 as both a dance school and event venue. Founded by Alma, a native of Puerto Rico, the business grew from a vision of creating spaces where people could celebrate and express themselves creatively. By 2013, Queen Bee's had hosted over 100 non-profit fundraisers and community events alongside its arts programmes.
The venue itself is built around a main room with a bamboo hardwood dance floor, custom ceiling fans, and crystal chandeliers, with a capacity of 250 people. A professional-grade concert sound system can handle up to 300 guests at full volume, and a spacious stage accommodates live bands and performances. This is the space where both dance classes and private events take place.
Dance classes run throughout the week with different styles and social elements. Salsa and Bachata lessons with Positive Energy Dance Company happen every Sunday from 5:30 PM, with a $15 cover ($10 for students). Beginning Swing with Mercedes Moore runs every Tuesday from 6:30–7:30 PM, followed by a social until late ($15 for class and social, $10 for social only). Beginner Line Dance Social meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00–9:00 PM for $15. Pole Buzz offers pole dance instruction through a separate programme. A versatile dance pass is available that covers access to salsa, swing, line dance, and other classes, excluding Pole Buzz.
As an event venue, Queen Bee's handles weddings, corporate events, private gatherings, and live music shows. The booking process is straightforward: provide event details and the experienced staff will guide you through planning. The venue offers customisable space, in-house sound systems, and catering and DJ recommendations.
