About this studio
Salsaflow Dance Company is a salsa and bachata school in central Basel, located at Elisabethenanlage 7 (1st floor), directly next to Basel SBB railway station. You can reach the studio by tram lines 1, 2, 8, 10, 11, and 16, or by bus 30, 42, 48, and 50. Parking is limited in the area; the studio recommends Parking Elsässertor at Viaduktstrasse 3 or Parkhaus Elisabethen at Heuwaage.
The studio runs regular 8-week course cycles, each with one 60-minute lesson per week. Regular courses cost CHF 190 per person, with reduced rates for students and school pupils (CHF 160), or CHF 320 for couples registering together (CHF 270 for student couples). Free trial lessons are available by arrangement. Courses cover both Salsa and Bachata at multiple levels, from beginner through advanced. The studio also runs an intensive training programme called SFIT (Salsaflow Intensive Training) and monthly workshops. Summer courses run for 3 weeks (CHF 100, or CHF 90 for students) with the option to attend up to 5 classes of your choice in a single week, or to register for a specific course running throughout the 3-week period.
Danceflow Night is the studio's social dancing event, held on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of each month. It takes place in a relaxed atmosphere with two separate floors: a Salsa floor with DJ Rafa Rivas and a Bachata floor. Entry is CHF 5 for Salsaflow students and CHF 10 for guests. The studio also hosts monthly workshops before Danceflow Night and runs outdoor editions, including FLOWeekend on 9–10 October 2026.
The studio's facilities comprise two large, equally sized dance studios (Studio 1 and Studio 2), an entrance area, two toilets (separate for men and women), and a water fountain available to all. Both studios have natural daylight. The studio can be rented for regular courses, training, or events; rental rates are CHF 50 per hour (one studio) Monday to Friday before 17:00, and CHF 60 per hour after 17:00 or outside these times by request.
Private lessons, shows, and animations are available on request. The studio is a member of Tanzvereinigung Schweiz (TVS) and is recognised by major Swiss health insurers including SWICA, CSS, and Helsana, meaning students may be eligible for dance training subsidies. The studio also hosts regular salsa and bachata parties in Basel and recommends several weekly partner venues: Salsa Paradise Party at Corrientes (Wednesdays from 21:00) and Disco vs. Salsa at Bar Rouge (Fridays from 22:00).
