It hosts 18 resident arts organizations—small and midsized nonprofits including theater companies, choral groups, orchestras, and dance ensembles—plus another 100+ groups that use the building for rehearsals, performances, and meetings throughout the year.
The center runs African Drum & Dance classes on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am, open to all ages and levels. First-timers are always welcome to drop in. Classes are accompanied by live and energetic African drumming, and cost $15 for adults and $5 for children.
Beyond classes, Sammons hosts regular concert series. Sammons Jazz presents live performances ($50–$55) such as "Blending Rhythms" (featuring the Bobby Falk Group with Aaron Irwinsky on saxophone, Chris Borin on trumpet, Jeff Furgo on piano, and Brian Warthen on bass) and "Timeless Traditions" (featuring the James Kings Trio). Sammons Cabaret stages vocal performances like the annual "Cabaret & Cabernet Fête" ($45–$50).
