About this studio
The Boise Valley Square Dance Hall is a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility located at 6534 West Diamond Street in Boise. It serves as the hub for dance across the Treasure Valley, hosting square dancers, round dancers, ballroom dancers, country western dancers and other groups throughout the week.
The hall occupies 7,200 square feet with an unfinished hardwood floor and a moveable partition that allows groups to configure the space to their needs. The Board of Directors completed a major interior remodel in 2017, updating kitchen appliances, installing new flooring in the foyer, restrooms and kitchens, fully painting the interior, and updating plumbing and electrical systems. In 2024–25, further improvements were made including a complete security system and upgraded thermostat system.
Regular dance groups meet at the hall daily and weekly. Square and round dance clubs including Capital Squares, Dance With Me Rounds, Gem State Squares, Last Chance 2 Dance, Quadrilaterals, Syringa Squares, Tanglefoot Squares and Treazure Valley Rounds hold weekly or regular meetings. Ballroom dancing is hosted regularly by USA Dance and Lessons in Dance Clubs. Country western dance groups including the Idaho Country Western Dance Association, the Treasure Valley Country Dance Association (R2L2), the High Desert Swing Dance Club and the English Country Dance meet at least monthly.
Square and round dance classes are taught regularly by local square dance callers and round dance cuers throughout the year. The hall is a member of the Country Dance and Song Society, the Idaho State Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs, Inc., and the Intermountain Square and Round Dance Association, connecting the local dance community to national networks and resources.
