About this studio
Stagecoach Ballroom is one of Texas's largest dance halls, with a 3,500-square-foot dance floor built to give dancers room to move without crowding. Located at 2516 E Belknap in Fort Worth, it has been a pillar of country music and dance for over 55 years, opening in October 1961. The Czajkowski family has owned and operated it for 45 years as of March 2021, making it one of the last large family-owned dance halls in the state.
The venue offers regular dance lessons for both beginners and intermediate dancers. On Fridays, lessons run 6:30–7:15 (intermediate) and 7:15–8:00 (beginners), with doors opening at 6:00 pm and a happy hour from 6:00–8:00 pm. Sundays bring similar offerings: intermediate lessons 2:00–2:45 and beginners 2:45–3:30, with doors open at 1:30 pm and happy hour running 1:30–5:00 pm. Tuesdays feature a line dance takeover with lessons for ages 18 and up, doors at 6:00 pm, $7 entry. Saturday nights are centred on live bands, which take the stage at 8:30 pm after doors open at 7:00 pm.
The hall has hosted major recording artists over decades, including Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Ray Price, Gene Watson, Johnny Rodriguez, Dale Watson, Johnny Bush, and many others. It was the filming location in 1986 for the national motion picture "Square Dance" (released 1987), which was nominated for a Golden Globe and starred Rob Lowe, Wynona Rider, Jason Robards, and Jane Alexander.
The space is described as spacious with plenty of tables and chairs, a large wooden bar (still one of the longest continuous bars in Fort Worth), and an old-school atmosphere with vintage lighting. The venue welcomes all ages. It is available for private events including weddings, wedding receptions, birthday parties, and reunions.

Your first visit
Walk in to a large, spacious hall with room to dance without bumping into other couples. You'll find plenty of tables and chairs, a long wooden bar, and live music or dancing depending on the night—Friday and Sunday bring dance lessons followed by music, Saturday nights feature live bands starting at 8:30 pm, and Tuesday is line dance night. The atmosphere is old-school and welcoming.

Studio history
Stagecoach Ballroom opened in October 1961 and has survived three locations and two families. The Czajkowski family took ownership and celebrated 45 years of family ownership in March 2021. In 1986, the hall was the filming location for the Golden Globe–nominated motion picture "Square Dance" (released 1987), starring Rob Lowe, Wynona Rider, Jason Robards, and Jane Alexander. Rob Lowe was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in 1988.
