About this studio
TC Dance Club International has been teaching ballroom dancing in Baton Rouge since 1970, transforming hundreds of students into dancers over five decades. The studio occupies two ballrooms with specialty floating wooden dance floors, designed to reduce joint stress and provide a smooth dancing surface. The main ballroom creates a true ballroom atmosphere, while an additional junior ballroom provides space for the full calendar of group lessons, practice sessions, and choreography work.
The studio teaches a wide range of styles: Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Waltz, Cha Cha, Salsa, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Merengue, Country Western, and Cajun. Instruction is available through structured programs—the Introductory Program (four 40-minute private lessons plus group classes and a club practice party), the General Variety Program (a four-dance plan for quicker progression and comfortable social dancing), and the Medalist system (Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels). Wedding dance packages are also available, allowing couples to focus on choreography to a specific song.
Group classes run every night at 7:15 PM and are kept small, typically 3–12 people, making them an effective complement to private lessons. The studio schedules at least one club party or social function every week, giving students regular opportunities to practise what they've learned and dance with friends. Recent events have included a Spring Showcase, a Fourth of July casual party, and a Victory Party in 2026.
Private lessons are available Monday to Friday between 1:45 PM and 9:30 PM, with regular hours 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM Monday–Friday. The studio is aimed at adult learners and welcomes dancers of all levels, from those with no rhythm to those seeking advanced technique. Students can experience the club atmosphere immediately with a free trial private lesson.

Group classes run nightly at 7:15 PM with small groups (3–12 people), and the studio hosts at least one social party or practice event each week where you can dance with other students.

Who teaches here
Dan Caballero is Director and Dance Master, a United States Champion in the Southeast who was a member of the International Dance Board of the Arthur Murray organization and has been owner of the Baton Rouge TC Dance Club since 1975. Rick Carpenter is Owner/Manager, who joined the club in 1990 and has received numerous awards for dance and business. Lawrence Joiner is a Dance Instructor with over a decade of teaching experience and a background in music education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Reon Allen is a Dance Instructor who began dancing at age 4, studied Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop, and later became an instructor and choreographer for CSU Long Beach's Salsa Club, specializing in Latin dances including Salsa, Cuban Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and Merengue.

TC Dance Club International was founded in 1970 and celebrates over five decades of teaching ballroom dancing to Baton Rouge residents. Dan Caballero became owner of the Baton Rouge location in 1975 and has served as Director and Dance Master. Rick Carpenter joined as manager in 1990 and later became owner, bringing innovative teaching methods and community involvement to the studio.
