About this studio
The Mansion is a landmark event venue housed in a 1931 Georgian Revival estate in downtown Austin. Founded that year, it ranks among the finest examples of Georgian Revival architecture in the South. The building spreads across over 11,000 square feet of event space and serves as headquarters for the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs (TFWC), a non-profit organization and the largest voluntary association of women in Texas.
The venue offers multiple distinct spaces, each suited to different event sizes and styles. The Grand Ballroom features a polished oak floor spanning over 4,000 square feet with a ceiling that soars to nearly 30 feet, illuminated by seventy candlelight bulbs and a thousand sparkling crystal drops from vintage bronze and crystal wall sconces. It accommodates up to 300 guests for ceremony and reception, with a large curtained stage for DJ or live music. The Georgian Tea Room, which operated as a tea room in the 1930s and 1940s, functions as a ballroom in miniature with tall elegant windows, vaulted ceiling, and original hat-check stand; it seats up to 144 guests. The Garden Courtyard offers an intimate outdoor setting with a babbling stone fountain, Greek-style pergola, and seasonal flowering plants, seating 160 guests and accessible from the ballroom as an extension for indoor-outdoor receptions.
Additional spaces include the Formal Dining Room with an expansive bay window overlooking the Garden Courtyard and a baby grand piano, the Victorian Parlor with fireplace and wall of golden mirrors, and the Library with a collection of historic Texana and antique furnishings. A key advantage: The Mansion hosts only one event at a time, ensuring you and your guests have exclusive use of the entire property except for support staff.
The venue maintains a curated list of preferred vendors across cakes, catering, wedding planning, entertainment, florals, photography, rental companies, valet services, and wine and beer options. Staff are known for accommodating requests and working closely with couples and event planners to execute celebrations of any size.
