About this studio
Trio is an electronic dance music nightclub located on the second floor of 139 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. Open since 1994, the venue has become a fixture of Charleston's nightlife scene, hosting headline DJs and live music events featuring travelling artists from across the country.
The club is built around cutting-edge technical infrastructure. Trio features a full 16-panel 3.9 millimetre LED video wall with 251 5-millimetre LED video bars behind the DJ and overhead. The lighting design includes 16 360-degree directional MOVO beams, 4 5-watt D-Force lasers, 10 Q-Spot down lights, and 68 RGB dots. The system is controlled via an Avolites AI media server and GrandMA Wing with X-Touch. A Cameo Haze 1500 Pro and fully integrated Kryogenifex liquid nitrogen system complete the immersive experience. The upstairs nightclub features DAS Audio ES10 loudspeakers with ES218 subs powered by FFA10000 and MC2 amplifiers—Trio was the first club worldwide to feature the new E11even sound prototype system by DAS Audio, designed by iDesign Productions (who also provide AV for E11even Miami). The DJ booth includes Pioneer DJ products: 4 CDJ2000 Nexus 2 units and a Pioneer DJM900 Nexus 2 mixer.
The venue operates Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 2 AM, with Thursday and Sunday hours listed as TBA. Trio offers VIP table service and regularly hosts bachelorette parties. The club is strictly 21+ regardless of show or event. Dress code prohibits backpacks, athletic wear, beachwear, sliders, slippers and crocs; special event guidelines restrict festival toys and swinging objects. All tabs left open at the end of the night are closed with a 20% auto-gratuity added. The venue has voted best bar, best girls night out, and best nightclub in Charleston.

The venue also hosts Trioteca presents Oasis Afterdark events and official festival after-parties.
