About this studio
Viva Dance Columbus (formerly Emerald City Ballroom) is a full-service dance studio in Dublin offering group classes, private lessons, and regular social dance events. The studio teaches Salsa On2, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Ballroom, and Latin styles, with beginner-friendly options across all levels.
Group classes run throughout the week. Beginner Salsa On2 meets Tuesdays at 7:30 pm with instructors Gio & Gaby. Beginner Bachata is Thursdays at 8:00 pm, also with Gio & Gaby. Argentine Tango beginners meet Mondays at 6:30 pm with instructor Anita Converse. All group classes are no-partner-needed and designed for people new to dance.
Private lessons are available one-on-one with expert instructors tailored to your goals. Single lessons are $110 for one hour. Package deals offer savings: five lessons for $500 (saving $50) or ten lessons for $900 (saving $200). You can book a single lesson or purchase a package and schedule sessions later using lesson credits.
Membership options suit different schedules. Viva Core is $79 every 4 weeks for 4 classes (best for once-a-week attendance). Viva Plus is $139 for 8 classes every 4 weeks. Viva Premium is $189 for 12 classes. Viva Unlimited at $299 gives you unlimited classes. Class passes are also available for flexible attendance: a drop-in ticket is $25 for one class (valid 2 weeks), a 4-class pass is $89 (valid 6 weeks), or a 5-class flex pass is $115 (valid 3 months). Eligible students can purchase a 6-class student pass for $90 (valid 3 months) in person.
New students can start with the $49 New Student Bundle, which includes one private lesson, one group class, and one social dance. Couples can try the $64 New Couple Bundle with one shared private lesson plus one group class and one social for each person. The private lesson helps the studio understand your goals and guides you into your first social.
The studio hosts regular social dance events. Ballroom Fridays run 7:30–10:00 pm with rotating DJs and party hosts, admission $20. The studio also runs themed socials and special events throughout the year. An upcoming Afro-Latin Dance Experience features workshops with Christian Sanchez followed by social dancing in Bachata, Kizomba, and Afro-Latin styles, with a DJ Dabez party from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Workshop pricing ranges from $25 for one workshop to $50 for a full pass. The studio celebrates Salsamante's 15-Year Anniversary Weekend on March 27–29.
