International Examining Body
Overview
UK dance examination board whose founders began by producing a Classical Ballet syllabus and which today offers multi-genre syllabi and examinations in six genres: Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre and AcroDancer. Also awards dance teaching qualifications recognised by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales. Founding year is not stated on the pages consulted, so left blank. Founded in 1930 by Edouard Espinosa, per the organisation's own About page ("Founded in 1930 by Edouard Espinosa, bbodance has been inspiring excel..."). Note the same page also says Espinosa "left in 1929 to establish the British Ballet Organization"; the explicit founding-year sentence says 1930 and that is what is recorded here.
