CALLERLAB - International Association of Square Dance Callers

Overview

Formed in 1971 when Bob Osgood convened eleven members of the Square Dance Hall of Fame, holding its first convention in 1974. CALLERLAB is the standards body for Modern Western Square Dance: it publishes the official dance programme lists (Basic and Mainstream, Social Square Dancing, Plus, Advanced, Challenge, Community Dance Program, Handicapable), maintains call definitions, certifies caller coaches and lists certified square dance teachers. It sets syllabus standards rather than sanctioning competition.
