Overview

Irish dance organisation founded in 1982 by Ita Cadwell and eleven other teachers on the principle that all teachers should be protected and all dancers afforded the right to dance. Runs regional championships as qualifiers plus three annual majors: the Irish Open Championships, the North American Open Championships and the World Open Championships (Craobhacha Oscailte na Cruinne, first held in 2012 at Wexford Opera House). Has teachers and adjudicators in England, Scotland, Wales, Holland, Belgium, Canada, USA and Australia.
