Overview
Fijian government institute, begun as the Fijian Dictionary Project in 1974 and renamed the iTaukei Institute of Language and Culture by the Great Council of Chiefs in 1986. It completed the iTaukei monolingual dictionary in 2007 and runs a Cultural Mapping Programme recording traditional knowledge in 1,171 villages across Fiji's fourteen provinces.
