Overview
Registered charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005 and the national organisation responsible for fostering, developing and protecting traditional Maori performing arts (kapa haka). It is made up of thirteen regional societies (rohe) and delivers the biennial Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival, whose aggregate disciplines include whakaeke, moteatea, waiata a-ringa, poi, haka and whakawatea.
