Overview
Founded 26 June 1981 at the National Square Dance Convention in Seattle, Washington. USDA is a dancer-controlled national association representing roughly 310,000 dancers and promoting "the total Square Dance Movement which includes Square, Round, Contra, Clogging, Line and Heritage Dancing". It provides insurance, youth scholarships, education and nonprofit umbrella status to affiliated clubs; it does not sanction competition.
