About this studio
Apollo Swing teaches swing dancing in Ixelles, with classes in Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Blues, Balboa, Shag, Boogie Woogie, and Solo Jazz with Tap dance. The studio runs beginner courses with entry points in September and February; other levels accept students year-round. You can drop in to a single class at any time if space is available.
Classes are structured around leads and followers. Lindy Hop and Shag are partner dances, and Apollo Swing works to keep the ratio of leads to followers balanced. If you sign up without a partner, you'll be placed on a waitlist and paired when space opens up. Partner changes happen during lessons to help both leads and followers develop by dancing with different partners. A dedicated Lindy Hop SWITCH class lets you learn both roles.
Trial lessons cost €14 for one hour or €17 for 1 hour 15 minutes. If you decide to join the full course afterwards, the trial fee is deducted from the total cost. The studio offers discounts for taking multiple classes: 50% off a second class in the same style, 30% off a second style, and 30% off a third. Private lessons are available to help you catch up on material.
The studio hosts regular workshops and social events, including recent offerings like a Lindy Hop workshop in Namur with Martin & Valérie, Shim Sham classes with Jérôme Nils & Bianca, and a weekend event in Leuven. Lessons run on a semester schedule, and you're encouraged to attend consistently to follow the material. People of all ages are welcome—no experience required to start.
