Bailando has been teaching Cuban salsa in Antwerpen since 1997. The studio is run by Javier Gomez and Geert Audenaert, who teach together and bring decades of experience to their classes. Their approach to Cuban salsa is rooted in authentic style while being adapted for how their students think, move and learn — delivered with passion and humour.
Both instructors have extensive performance and media experience. They have taught workshops and performed throughout Vlaanderen, including 10 years performing at Noche de la Passion, appearances on the VTM summer tour, and opening performances for Belle Perez. They have worked both in front of and behind the scenes on several television programmes: Dansmundial, Sterren op de Dansvloer, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Classes are organised by level: salsa beginners, salsa halfgevorderden (intermediate), salsa gevorderden (advanced), masterclass, and rueda. New course blocks start in September at BLOC 2030, Columbiastraat 110, Antwerpen. The studio also runs free salsa initiation sessions every Tuesday in August at 20:00 at Bocadero, Waagnatie, making it easy to try Cuban salsa with no commitment.
