For the past 20 years, Elena has integrated contemporary dance techniques, Chinese martial arts, and other Asian disciplines into a rigorous daily practice, developing a distinctive approach to movement that sets her work apart.
Elena's training spans multiple continents and traditions. She specialized in Chinese martial arts under Sri Lankan Kung Fu master Ravi Chandrasiri and has studied at leading dance institutions across Europe, including the Royal Academy of Ballet in Antwerp, TicTac Art Center with David Zambrano in Brussels, Tanzhouse in Düsseldorf, Micadanses Dance studio in Paris, Marameo contemporary dance training studio in Berlin, the Contemporary dance school in Zimbabwe, Danscentrumsud in Malmö, Danshallerne in Copenhagen, CDSH in Hamburg, and Tanzquartier in Vienna. Her influences extend to classical ballet, contact improvisation, acrobatics, Butoh dance, Indian Kathak dance, African dance, and physical theatre.
The core offering is personalized masterclasses for professional performers through the House of 5 Elements programme. This integrates Chinese martial arts, manipulation of sticks and other objects, Butoh dance, physical theatre, Indian Kathak dance, dance with water sleeves, African dance, Qi Gong, and body drumming, alongside four powerful breathing techniques: breathing of wind, water, fire, and earth. Sessions are tailored to each dancer's unique goals and can be structured as single masterclasses or ongoing series.
Elena's choreographic work demonstrates her creative vision. Gate of the Trees, a choreography produced by filmmaker Roeland Van Onckelen, tells the story of five different characters—Animal, Shaman, Geisha, Wind, and Child—exploring the connection between humans and trees. House of 5 Elements involved five performers in a public space, bringing the story of the five elements from Chinese philosophy to life. Obsession of Creation exemplifies her integration of martial arts into contemporary dance, showing how powerful breathing techniques create rhythm and convey different types of energy.

She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and pursued dance education across Europe. After specializing in Chinese martial arts, she developed her signature approach to integrating martial arts into contemporary dance. She took her dancer name from the Chinese philosophy she immersed in—'Lin', which means 'forest'.
