About this studio
Bolly Dancing Studio opened in Singapore in 2008, bringing authentic Modern Bollywood Dance to the island after the founder Anjali Savla's success running the original studio in Mumbai since 1992. The studio specialises in beginner-friendly classes across all ages and fitness levels, teaching what Anjali describes as the Modern Bollywood Dance taught in the heart of Mumbai—a high-energy fusion of Indian classical forms, hip hop, jazz, salsa and Latin rhythms, quite different from Indian folk dance.
The studio runs classes every day of the week at assorted times, offering BollyDancing Choreo (the signature authentic Bollywood class), Bolly Dazz® Fitness (a modern, high-intensity total body workout), Bolly Dazz Tone & Burn (compound movements using dumbbells to train multiple muscle groups), Zumba Fitness and Zumba Toning, KPopX Fitness, POUND Fit, STRONG by Zumba, Pilates with a Bollywood Twist, Piloxing, Hip Hop, MEGADANZ, OXIGENO® Yoga, and FightDo. Kids aged 5 to 11 take dedicated Bollywood classes. The studio also offers private one-on-one and group lessons, wedding choreography and performance training, corporate workshops and team-building sessions, and condo-based classes for small groups across Singapore.
Over 15,000 participants from across Singapore have joined the community since 2008, including corporate clients and government departments. Students have performed at international dance festivals under UNESCO auspices in Thailand, Denmark, France, UK, Spain and Germany. The Bolly Dazz® Fitness program is certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and AFAA, and is now taught in 15 countries including the USA, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and India. The studio has worked with HPB vendors and has run large-scale events with over 6,000 participants at festivals such as Line Dance Fiesta and Dance-Athon (Expo).
The teaching team includes founder and artistic director Anjali Savla (a Bollywood choreographer and Zumba Fitness Instructor with formal Indian classical dance training and 18 years of Western dance and fitness experience), co-founders Jasmine Savla and Sejal Savla, and instructors Chitra Nadarajan, Nicky Sarka (from Ecuador, with 10 years of Zumba experience), Julian See (Zumba instructor since 2015), and Theeya (choreographer and teacher in Bollywood, Hip-Hop, Modern, K-pop and Zumba). Mayuri manages operations.
The studio location is at 261 Waterloo Street, #01-12 Waterloo Centre, Singapore 180261. Classes run on a schedule with both in-studio and virtual livestream options available.
