About this studio
Brothers & Stylez opened on 10 October 2005 as a dance community in Frankfurt, founded by Suffian Bangura. Suffian is a professional all-round dancer, choreographer and teacher who began performing on television at age 12. His philosophy is to share his passion for dance with whole-hearted dedication, viewing dance as pure joy and freedom of expression. The studio's teaching staff includes head coach Suffian and coach Gabrielle, an active professional dancer and choreographer who performs on major stages almost weekly and focuses on training dancers with strong technique, stage presence and passion.
The studio offers classes across a range of urban and cultural dance styles. Hip Hop & Streetdance (also called NewStyle) combines popping, waving, top rocking, New Jack Swing, Old School and street jazz, taught at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for kids, teens and adults. Breakdance classes cover top rocking, footworks, freezes, powermoves and freestyle for all ages and levels. Afro-Dancehall blends African dance styles and their Caribbean variations, with emphasis on hip movement and body shaping. Funk teaches the popping and locking fundamentals including waves, hittings, wrist rolls, points, roboting and electric boogie. Body Language (Jazz Funk) combines modern, jazz funk, vogue dance and hip hop with isolation training and classical ballet technique for adults. Afro & House merges the Angolan style Kuduro with house dance elements including shuffle, stomping, loose leg, the train, farmer, jack in the box and ground work.
Students learn choreography from each style and have opportunities to perform at shows, festivals, competitions and other events. The studio also organises streetdance battles in and around Frankfurt and performs as backing dancers for artists. A free trial class can be arranged by email.
