About this studio
DA F.U.N.K. is a hip-hop and streetdance school with 30 locations across Germany, including a studio in Hannover at Plathnerstraße 5B. The business teaches Hip Hop, Streetdance, Breakdance, Dancehall, and Pole Dance. Classes run both in-person at studio locations and online, so you can train from anywhere.
The school positions itself around progression from beginner to performance level. They offer trial lessons (Probestunde) and run structured courses designed to teach hip-hop dancing over several weeks, building from foundational work to stage-ready choreography.
DA F.U.N.K. hosts regular workshops featuring world-class coaches. Past instructors have included Les Twins (World of Dance winners), Marty Kudelka (who has worked with Justin Timberlake), Nikeata Thompson and Joshua Smith (known from work with Usher), Adam Sevani and Misha Gabriel (Step Up franchise), and Moose. The school also runs a Summer Dance Camp, which has included international editions.
Beyond classes, the business rents out professional dance crews for events, offering choreographed performances described as energetic and crowd-engaging. They rent their own event location in Augsburg (their headquarters city), equipped with a stage, professional lighting rig, Line Array PA system with DANTE, and a projector — available for private events with flexible catering and no minimum drink spend. The Hannover location itself operates as part of the broader network, with students able to access online training and potentially attend centralized workshops and camps.
The school emphasizes progression and community, using the phrase "The Funky United Nation Krew" and encouraging students to "go beyond your limits" and "train to the next level."
