About this studio

Dance Domain Tableview is part of a multi-studio dance organisation affiliated with the South African Dance Foundation (SADF) — the only such association in the Western Cape. The Table View studio sits at 14 Beach Boulevard and serves students across a wide range of dance styles and experience levels.

The studio teaches Ballroom Dances, Latin Dances, Social Dances, and Dance Sport/Dance Competition. They offer three formats: private one-on-one lessons with personal technique coaching, group classes organised by level (beginners start with fundamentals only), and social dance sessions. Group classes let you build foundations, dance with different partners, and develop good habits alongside students at your level. Private instructors maintain detailed progress files for each student.

Social dance sessions run Wednesday and Friday evenings from 8–10pm, with main lights dimmed and disco lighting on. Instructors are on hand to help or partner with you, and the studio plays modern music you'd hear at weddings and functions so you can learn which dances suit current popular songs.

Wedding choreography is a speciality. The studio recommends starting 4–6 months before your wedding day to become comfortable with your first dance. They can work with your chosen song (bring a recording), offer traditional waltzes or alternatives like Boogie, Two Step, Rumba, Jazz or Foxtrot, and create choreographed routines or opening sequences if you want something extra. They also teach social moves useful for the whole evening and future functions.

The FAQ states that anyone can learn to dance — there is no age limit. The studio has trained students from about 5 years old through to over 70. Dancing is described as being as easy as walking once you've been taught the basic elements.
