About this studio
Dance Factory Bristol is run by Michele Webber, an experienced dancer and dance coach who has competed at national level and danced internationally, including teaching in Amsterdam for 4 years. She is a qualified teacher with many years of coaching, performing and competing experience, and currently coaches the Bristol University ballroom and latin team. She has also partnered Brian Fortuna in a high-profile beginners DVD sold in the UK and the US.
The studio offers a range of dance styles including ballroom and Latin, hip hop and street, Bollywood, cheerleading, disco, jazz and dancexercise. Classes are delivered for beginners, improvers and very experienced dancers. The studio's approach centres on small classes so you learn more, no rotation of partners for those who want to stay dancing and learning just with their partner or friend, short courses so you don't need to commit for too long, and follow-on classes that help you progress. Choreography gives you the basics but with some 'Strictly' style moves from lesson one, and catch-up lessons are offered if needed as part of your course fee.
Beyond regular classes, Dance Factory offers one-to-one private tuition in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions, available around your schedule. Private lessons can reinforce learning from classes or help you prepare for a significant occasion—a birthday, anniversary, cruise, or wedding. Gift vouchers are available and can be emailed within 24 hours if needed.
The studio runs wedding first-dance lessons for couples, hen and stag parties (with optional video recording through Bristol Film Studios), and corporate team-building events. Dance masterclasses can be tailored to your event theme—Strictly style, 50s jive, Dirty Dancing, street and hip hop—with coordinated music. The studio also works with local schools developing the potential of children and young people. Christmas party workshops are available, run by professional instructors in the studio, allowing groups to learn moves they can then use on the dance floor at their celebration.
Class prices range from £7.50–£10.00 per person. The studio emphasises that dance can be great fun, provide wonderful exercise opportunity and help anyone escape the stresses of everyday life. Dance lessons and classes are comfortable and informal but focused on people achieving their potential and getting maximum value for money.
