About this studio
TOP CENTRUM is a professional dance school established in 2001 in Bratislava. Operating as a civic association, they teach dance courses across three studio locations and serve over 3,000 satisfied clients annually with more than 200 open courses per year.
Their main teaching space is the Tančiareň Centrum, located at Apollo Klub, Súkennícka 4 (near OC Eurovea). The school operates seven dance halls across its facilities. Classes are held daily from Monday to Sunday, 10:00 to 22:00. Each lesson runs for 75 minutes.
TOP CENTRUM offers courses for adults, youth and seniors taught by 12 professional instructors. Instructors are qualified teachers of ballroom dance and social etiquette, many of whom are former and current professional dancers. Trainers and assistants include multiple Slovak champions in ballroom dance, certified sports dance trainers, holders of international S-class dance credentials, and members of SZTŠ (Slovak Dance Sport Association).
For adults, they run general ballroom dance courses progressing from beginner to advanced levels, covering dances such as waltz, quickstep, polka, csárdás and tango. Beginners can join without a partner; teaching takes place solo rather than in couples. Individual dancers without partners may be paired during lessons if both agree. They also offer Latino for Women courses designed for those without a dance partner seeking fitness and enjoyment.
Wedding dance preparation is a major offering. They provide rapid wedding courses, individual coaching for wedding dances, and discounted wedding packages. Clients are advised to begin six weeks before their wedding. Minimum two lessons are recommended for a single dance without choreography; four lessons minimum for choreographed first dances. Classes run individually with no group instruction—the instructor works exclusively with the couple. Clients may bring parents or friends (max one additional couple) to one lesson at 50% of the individual lesson rate. The Viennese waltz is highlighted as the most suitable wedding dance. Coaching is available across the full year, with discounts of 20–30% offered on individual lessons during off-season months (January, February, March) for wedding preparation. Clients can bring their own music for custom choreography.
What to expect
Your first visit
Your first class is a 75-minute lesson divided into three parts: review of previous material, teaching new dance steps, and practical practice where you try out what you've learned. Group classes accommodate multiple pairs, though beginner courses fit more couples than advanced courses due to the space required for complex figures.
Instructors
