About this studio
Danse Mazurelle-Clanet has taught dance in Toulouse for 35 years. The school sits at 50 Avenue de l'URSS in the Saint-Agne neighbourhood, 50 metres from Metro line B station Saint-Agne SNCF and 100 metres from the SNCF train station.
The studio offers ballroom and Latin dance (rock, salsa, waltz, Argentine tango, cha-cha-cha, rumba, quickstep, Paso Doble), tap dance (American, French and Irish styles), and specialist courses in Bachata, West Coast Swing, and Argentine Tango. Beginners start with a 3-month programme in rock, salsa, waltz, tango and cha-cha. After the beginner stage, students progress through five levels: 2nd degree (rock and salsa plus all dances), 3rd degree (all dances plus rock-jive and salsa with Bronze medals), 4th degree (all dances plus rock-jive with Silver medals), and 5th degree (all dances plus jive with Gold medals). Children's classes run on Wednesday afternoons from 15:00, covering ballroom styles and tap dance at beginner and advanced levels. Private lessons are available solo or as a couple.
The studio's approach emphasises regular partner rotation in group classes—dancers change partners throughout lessons rather than dancing exclusively with one person. Beginner class groups are limited to around 15 couples. The school draws students from across Toulouse's demographics: roughly 35% are students, 40% are working adults aged 25–55, and 25% are over 50 or seniors. Classes run most evenings and some afternoons; new beginner sessions start every two to three weeks.
The rooms are air-conditioned. The school is easy to reach by car (over 250 free parking spaces on the surrounding streets and avenue), by metro, by bus, or by train. There is a free trial option: you may attend a class to observe without charge, or pay for a single class at €12 without committing to a package.
