About this studio
Dublin Salsa Academy is one of Ireland's most established Latin dance schools, founded in 2014 and based in the heart of Dublin city centre at Harbourmaster. The academy teaches over 1,000 students annually across three distinct styles: Sensual Bachata, Line Salsa, and Cuban Salsa. The school is the only dance academy in Dublin offering all three styles under one roof, with structured 8-week courses, regular social dance events, and a thriving community of passionate dancers.
Classes run three times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at Harbourmaster, Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1. Each day features the same styles taught at different times to give you scheduling flexibility. Mondays run Cuban Salsa (18:30–19:30), Line Salsa Style (19:30–20:30), and Sensual Bachata (20:30–21:30). Tuesdays flip the order: Line Salsa Style (18:30–19:30), Sensual Bachata (19:30–20:30), Cuban Salsa (20:30–21:30). Wednesdays offer Line Salsa Style (18:30–19:30), Cuban Salsa (19:30–20:30), and Sensual Bachata (20:30–21:30). Dance socials run after classes from 21:30 onwards on all three days, with entry at €5.
Sensual Bachata focuses on body isolation, waves, connection and lead/follow, and musical interpretation. Line Salsa emphasises technical spinning, intricate footwork, and dynamic turn patterns. Cuban Salsa is circular and high-energy, teaching circular partner work, Rueda de Casino (partner-swapping circle dancing), and Afro-Cuban foundations.
Beginner courses last 4 weeks and are structured to take you from complete beginner to dancefloor-ready in a month. New intakes start multiple times each month, with enrollment windows and final joining dates published monthly. No partner is needed—the academy rotates partners throughout classes so everyone learns together. Beginners report feeling at home after their first class, and the academy's teaching method is praised for being both structured and fun. After completing Level 1, you can progress to Level 2 Intro and beyond. Drop-in classes are available if you want to try before committing to a course.
