The instructor is DBS checked and certified, has performed at events, won several teaching awards, and has experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults of all levels, including complete beginners.
Lessons take place in a private air-conditioned space on Greenbank Road in Central Bristol. The personal studio allows complete scheduling flexibility — you can change lesson times a couple of days in advance or book last-minute lessons before events with no charge. Private lessons are tailored to your learning style and progress, and you do not need a partner; in fact, learning alone means lessons can be customized entirely to you. The instructor particularly enjoys working with people who have never danced before or who have struggled in the past, and specializes in simplifying what is needed for each style so that dancers without experience look and feel good on the dance floor quickly.
Group lessons are available for small groups of friends wanting to learn together — a 55-minute lesson for more than two people costs £45 and can be scheduled to suit you. The instructor also arranges monthly nights out with students to experience Bristol's dancing and nightlife scene, sometimes including visits to salsa or bachata clubs, and sometimes swing or blues venues. Every three months or so, Prosecco Practice Parties are held: the instructor teaches a short warm-up class on styling followed by a wide range of music — swing, cha cha, salsa, and blues — in a fun, low-stress way to practice social dancing in a friendly environment.
