About this studio
El YoYo runs two studios in Rotterdam: one at Scheepmakershaven 31 (5 minutes from Blaak Station) and one at Culture Club, Delftsestraat 12–14 (5 minutes from Rotterdam Centraal Station, accessed via yellow stairs to the 2nd floor). The school specializes in Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and Afro Cuban dance.
They offer two main programmes. Partnerwork Courses run for 10 weeks, one class per week, with no own partner needed — students rotate partners during class. Styles include Salsa On1 (the foundational style taught to all beginners), Salsa On2 (advanced New York style), Bachata Sensual (close connection with waves and body movement), and Bachata Dominican (the original style from the DR, with playful footwork and raw energy). A 10-week course costs €155 per period; early birds who sign up before 27 May 2026 pay €140.
Open Level classes focus on solo technique, styling and choreography — no partner needed, no prior experience required. A fresh choreography starts at the beginning of each month, so you grow continuously. Styles include Styling & Technique, Modern Dance, High Heels, and Afro Cuban. Subscriptions run from €39/month (Essential: 1 fixed class per week) to €75/month (Unlimited: all Open Level classes). All subscriptions require a 3-month minimum commitment; after that you can cancel or pause monthly. A single trial class costs €15.50. The best time to join is at the start of the month when a new choreography begins.
Workshops and private lessons are available fully tailored. Workshops suit bachelorette parties, corporate team-building, birthdays, or intensive sessions, for groups of any size. Private lessons are 1-on-1 or for couples, covering Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Styling, Body movement, Technique, and wedding choreography. Workshops and private lessons can take place at either studio or at a venue of your choosing. Pricing is quoted on request via WhatsApp.
The studio uses the Bueno app for scheduling, sign-ups and check-ins. You must register in advance for each class, even with a subscription. Cancellations must be made before 15:00 on the day of the class via the app; late cancellations cannot be rescheduled. At least one missed class can be made up if you cancel on time, within the same course period, and at an equal or lower level. WhatsApp is the primary contact method for cancellations, pause requests, and enquiries. The school is Google-rated 5.0 out of 5 (14 reviews).
