About this studio

Salsability has been creating a gathering place for the dance community in Rotterdam for 25 years. It is the only salsa school in the Netherlands certified by Mambo King Eddie Torres, the founder of salsa, to follow his guidelines and technique.

The studio offers classes across four levels: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. You can start with a trial lesson for €15, which is credited toward course fees if you enrol. Classes are structured in four-week cycles, and if you miss a lesson, you can make it up on a different day within the same cycle without advance notice—just check the website for a class at your level and attend. You can move into a level that suits you even mid-course: Beginner and Advanced Beginner students may join during week two if they missed week one, while Intermediate and Advanced dancers can join as late as week three or four.

The teaching space is purpose-built for salsa with atmosphere, a large mirror wall, and a wooden floor spanning 200 square metres. The venue also includes a salsa lounge. You do not need special shoes or clothing for lessons, and you do not need a partner—the studio rotates partners during class, though you can bring your own if you prefer.

Beyond regular lessons, Salsability runs weekly salsa parties open to everyone, whether or not you take classes. The studio also organises Dancing & Dining events: you attend a salsa workshop (18:30–19:30), enjoy a three-course dinner, and finish with a touch of Merengue. These events cost €50 per person, excluding drinks. The studio hosts team-building and workshop events, running Salsa, Merengue, or Bachata workshops tailored to all ages and experience levels, charged at €30 per person for one hour (groups of 10 or more) or €25 per person for groups larger than 20. Salsability also offers venue hire for company events, birthday parties, receptions, and networking drinks, with the option to add catering, a DJ, a dance performance, or a diner. The venue is available for groups of 20 to 60 people.
